Julio Rosado speaks in NYC

****The following audio clip is a 25-minute talk given by former Puerto Rican Grand Jury Resister and Political Prisoner Julio Rosado. Julio Rosado has spent decades in the United States fighting for the Puerto Rican people and their independence. The topic of this talk, given on April 18, 2009 in Manhattan, NYC, is the history of the Puerto Rican independence ideology, from the development and crystallization of a national consciousness, the influence of the broader Latin American context, the rise of the Nationalist Party under Pedro Albizu Campos, the influence of Juan Antonio Corretjer and La Liga Socialista, all the way to the influence of ideology on the present need for various aspects of the Puerto Rican independence struggle to coalesce into one movement.****
