Seemingly infamous
Question
Who is this independence day
Affectin’?
Certainly not every American…

The declaration of independence
Was not meant to be an instantaneous change
Racism running rampant
North and south
That was impossible.
But many today
Or yesterday
Don’t realize this

My question is
Should we
As we
Supposedly
Have been
Continue with a liberal progression
Or halt dead in our tracks
And revolution enact

Independence has not come
Just ask those in any slum
